Imported titles go to "unassigned"
« on: August 13, 2004, 10:35:23 am »

All of my new audio files (ape and mp3) are ending up in the unassigned folder of the library.

I am assuming that this is because I use EAC (Exact Audio Copy) to rip the CD and the titles are not being tagged.

The old Media Jukebox used to allow me to file the titles in the library during import based on directory and filename. It was a check-box in the advanced import app.

Is there a way to do this with Media Center?

Thanks guys.

Library Tools > Fill Properties From Filenames

Also, MC's secure ripping mode is as or more secure than EAC.  It might be worth a try.

Perfect! Thanks Matt!

I'll try the MC ripper as well.

Here's a quick update on this issue.

I did the Library Tools -> Properties etc. thing.

All of the unassigned titles are in the right place now - it worked perfectly.

Then I tried the ripper which supports LAME (MP3) and APE, the two encoders I usually use with EAC when ripping a CD for home use (APE) and on the go (iPod). Excellent!

Thanks!
