Love the new import, pretty fast but was wondering why it takes longer on first run than it does on second.

Imported from a couple of directories (235220 files) and the first run took 4:09. It then said it was adding files to the library (xxxx of 2112) and then at the end, only 17 files were found.

what are the other 2095 files? Are they excluded as being too small? Do you count those files in with the import?

on the second run, the search and update took 8secs.

why would the second run go much faster? I know it works because I could add a few files here and there and MC will pick them up. Is there any caching on the first import? Is the caching cleared upon restart of MC?

Just wonderin'...not really a big deal to me.
