Windows and MC on Compact Flash
« on: October 03, 2004, 02:08:15 am »

I am thinking about building a new audio jukebox where the data is stored on two external disks using the Linksys Network Storage Link and the operating system, girder and Media Center resides on a silent medium like a compact flash card.

Has anyone ever tried something like that? I want to make it absolutely silent and the only noise (using a passive power supply) is the harddisk (even in a noise reduction enclosure you can hear it).

Thanks for all ideas! :)

How about booting from a USB stick?
