Don't run Media Jukebox or any other audio program while you're using Media Editor.

Since sending last message I upgraded from 7.2 to 8.0.
Editor seems to be working fine, but now I can't rip a CD.
I get the message "you have performed an illegal etc" every time it starts to rip, plus there is no mp3 available to format to.
I seem to be going from bad to worse.
Can you solve this one ?

May not have upgraded correctly. I would uninstall (backup your license first and/or save your MediaJukebox.rrg file to floppy) then reinstall (then restore license). Make sure you have latest of everything.

The *.rrg file will be in your Media Jukebox directory. Quick way to find it....do a search for *.rrg in whatever drive (ie your C drive) MJ is installed in. Once found, copy it to a floppy AND a known hard disk location (redundancy doesn't hurt). If you wnat to back it up (good idea), go to Help>Backup License in MJ.

Stay w/ v8 build 388 (the latest). 9 is beta.

Once reinstalled, go to go to Help>Restore License in MJ.

HELLO AGAIN
I HAVE REINSTALLED VERSION 8 - SEEMS TO BE WORKING O.K, APART FROM THE FACT THAT RIPPING TO MP3 AMD CONVERTING TO MP3 IS UNAVAILABLE TO ME. MP3 WAS AVILABLE ON MY VERSION 7. I SEEM TO HAVE LOST IT.
CAN I RESTORE IT OR DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE AGAIN!!!

Please take the CAPS LOCK OFF.

Please visit the plug-ins page and download the MP3 encoder.

Try using IE if you aren't already.
