Plug in for Ipod on MC10
« on: September 28, 2004, 02:00:34 pm »

I just downloaded MC 10 and am looking for plugin for iPod.  Does anyone know if one is available and where I can find it?

Go to

http://accessories.musicex.com/mediacenter/accessories.php

Click on "Handheld plugins" and download the first plug -- simply called "Portable Drive" Version: 9.0.126 (this works for both MC 9 and 10, I believe -- I'm using it on MC10 currently).

Also, make sure you read these instructions for instructions on configuring the iPOD with Media Center: http://www.home.earthlink.net/~ashawley01/.

The information for synching also applies to Nomad Jukebox.

knesbit,

No plugin is necessary, everything you need is installed as part of MC 10. Having said that, what lukecro advises should not harm anything if you have MC 10, it should just reinstall what is already there.

FYI, the plugin for MC 10 will not work with MC 9.

 ?

Well for some reason, MC10 is telling me that I have a plugin installed not meant for MC10 whenever I attempt to synch music with my iPod.  No idea what this means, and I have no idea how to remove it.  I can remove one called "Portable Drive", but I dont know if it will leave me unable to do anything if I do.   Can someone help me?  What I need to know is:

1) Should I remove this plug-in?
2) If so, do I need a new one for ipod 4th Gen 2gb click-wheel?

Rondo1,

Your best bet is to reinstall MC 10.  Another plan would be to go here...

http://accessories.musicex.com/mediacenter/accessories.php

and install the Portable Drive plugin version 9.0.126.

Hey Steve, thanks for the info.  I now see what I was doing wrong.  I went looking specifically for an iPod plugin and found the one listed under MC9.  Which is why MC10 is telling me that I have the wrong plugin installed.  So I'll try again when I get home, but if that doesn't work then I'll just reinstall MC10.  Thanks!
