Hello everyone I'm thinking about getting a non TiVo standalone digital video recorder, but I want to be able to watch the video it records through my computer by hooking up an ethernet cord to it.  Do any of you know any models that will allow me to do this, and also will I be able to watch the video transferred or by live feed on MediaCenter's builtin TiVo/DVR/i don't really know what it is function.

Right now I'm looking at:
Panasonic DMR-E80H
Pioneer DVR-510H

If you mean a DVR based in a home entertainment component, then they typically output S-video or other video standards.  The networking connection is usually just for receiving streams FROM a PC or schedule information, I don't konw of any that stream video OUT to a PC.

There are lots of new products out there though, some are video card based DVRs.  So your PC becomes the DVR and then of course you could watch on your PC recorded stuff on your PC or you could connect it to a TV.  What you are talking about there then is a Home Theater PC, or HTPC.

Media Center is not a Tivo and is not a DVR, its a library program for organizing and playing audio, video and pictures.

I think you can hack Replay TV to get the DVR files onto a PC.
