RIO 500 not all mp3s download
« on: October 28, 2002, 01:28:45 am »

I have a rio 500 v2.16 along with MJ 8.0.370 running XP. When i transfer mp3s from MJ to my RIO, a few songs don't transfer.  They read 12:15  0 kbps and skip when going through the tracks.  So if i transfer 24 songs, 2 or 3 won't play.  Seems as if they were transfered because when the rio is plugged in, MJ reads all the tracks, but they don't seem to play.
Yes I have fresh batteries.
I never had these problems before I installed XP which was just 2 weeks ago.
Can anyone pls help????

Spike,

Try the following.....

To work well with MJ you need to get the Rio drivers installed that come with the MJ Plugin. If XP has already installed the drivers that come with it, I would suggest that you remove them fully by following the directions at

Also uninstall the Rio Plugin for MJ. Make sure your Rio is disconnected and reboot.

After you reboot and BEFORE you connect your Rio, download the MJ Rio plugin. When you connect your Rio and XP asks if you want to install the default drivers, DO NOT accept the default, instead, point the installation to look in your System32 directory where it will find the drivers that we distribute with the Plug-in.

After this, you should be set. If you are still stuck email me at steve@jriver.com
