Ripping seems a little odd
« on: October 27, 2002, 09:03:10 am »

?
I know we can rip and encode but I prefer the rip and then encode because this way it can rip much faster.

However MJB seems to do this unlike any other software. MJB rips, then encodes, but does not go to the next track and start ripping until its done encoding.  This basically kills the speed advantage of ripping and then encoding. The CD does spin it just sits there waiting for the encoding to complete.

Every other management software I've used will rip, then start encoding, and then go to the next track and start ripping and so forth. Using that method discs can be ripped and encoded very quickly.

Look like they may change many things in the 'rip-encode-burn ' part of the program in version 9.
You are right, the way MJ works now is not that good
