Tagging performance
« on: December 31, 2004, 07:36:48 am »

Recently, I noticed that tagging speed is much to low compared to MC9 or 10. OK, that time I didn't choose the option to save tag changes immediately.

I am now trying to tag a lot of files and so I deactivated that option again and decided to update the files in a single step after finishing tagging work with "update tags from library".

But, even with deactivating that option it takes nearly a second to change the genre or rating. That's frustrating if you want to tag a lot of files!

Is there an option to increase speed or is this a well-known weak-point of MC11 ?

I use a Pentium IV 2400 MHZ and an external MAXTOR hard disc with USB2.0.

I noticed this especially is very slow when you tag via view schemes and use list delimited fields. I use such a least delimited field called "situation". Also, the view update in the upper view scheme section only works sometimes (so this seems to be a bug...)
