filenames with ... in them
« on: January 06, 2005, 02:34:04 am »

MC 10.0.173 / WinXP

had an album named "some text... the best of bandname", went to rip the cd and it couldn't create the directory from the album name, probably the triple dots.

changed the triple dots to a single dash and it ripped ok

edit: the triple dots are three consecutive period characters and not the single ellipsis character

MC and also Windows have some issues with dots in the file or folder names. It has been discussed several times. I don't think the final word has been said on this. Search for the "dot" in Media Center forum.

yeah, i know windows has problems with dots but i would have thought that as MC already replaces ? : \ and other "illegal" characters in the generated filename with underscores it would also replace these...
