I am integrating two large libraries in MC10.

Is there a way with the search or view scheme feature to quickly find artists that have songs with more than one genre?

I know how to do this if I export the library and run it through a database query, but it would be easier to do this in MC.

The goal is to quickly fix assignment problems (i.e. Nirvana's music was defined as Alternative in one library and Alternative Rock in another).

I am kind of a newbie with barely any hours logged using MC, but I think there is a way you could do this.

Couldn't you setup a view scheme to sorts songs by 'Artist' and then by 'Genre'?  You could go through all your artists and then any genres connected to that artist would show up in the tree.   If there were multiple genres for an artist, that would show up right away and you could fix the problem. 

Again, this might be the poor man's method, but unless someone else comes up with something more elegant, it is worth a shot.

That is what I have done before.  But with 1800+ artists, that is a little tedious especially when probably only about 100 of them will have multiple genres.

In an ideal world, I would live to do what you describe, but have it filtered so that only artists with multiple genres would be displayed.

Perhaps I have misunderstood, but you can easily view any aritst by just opening your library and typing the artist's name in the search box.   From there you can select any field and change it if you need to - ie: the genre.   I have used this to help get my artists into the right genre.
