Does Anyone Know About LightScribe Technology?

I Just Seen this On TV

Will It Work With Any Drive?

I See (I Guess) Nero Supports It

I Was Just Wondering If My Dive Will Work With Software To Do This Or Will I need To Upgrade My Drive Or Something.

Looks pretty neat, but you need a special drive.  Here's the FAQ:

Sounds like they are just stealing Yamaha's DiscT@2 technology.  I bought one of those drives (Yamaha CRW-F1) and used it for all of a month before I replaced it  :)

It took about an hour to burn the "label," and even then you could barely see it.  (It had to be held at an angle in the light. ::))  And yes, like an idiot I bought 3 "20 Pack" boxes of "Optimized for DiscT@2 Recording" CD-R's.  I used only 10 of them before I finally gave up and went out and bought a Plextor.  :P

As a footnote, though, Yamaha burned the image on the unused portion of the data side of the disc.  Since LightScribe seems to use the label side, maybe it performs better. <shrug>
