Importing DVD
« on: March 08, 2005, 05:55:23 pm »

I am starting to look at importing DVD's into MC11
I have a number of DVD's ripped into the following format  c:\DVD\movie name\VIDEO_TS\VOB,BUP,IFO etc.
When I import I end up with a bunch of VOB's with no easy way of telling where they came from.

When I use nero showtime to play these movies I can tell it to play a particular folder and it searches down the directory tree for the starting point of the DVD and away we go.

It would be nice if on import you could tell MC the directory structure so it knows the name of the movie and let it hide the gory details of the file structure so all I see is a single entry for the movie.

For those that have imported DVD's into MC11 how did you do it and organize it.

Thanks.

I'd be interested in what people are doing in this area as well.

How do we import DVD's and have asimple way of accessing them via MC11  with theatre view?

Cheers

This is how I do it...

1) Rip the whole DVD (ie, include .ifo's etc) or re-author if you just want the main title.
2) Locate the 1st vob file of the series (eg, VTS_01_1.vob).
3) Drag this into MC (ie, import)
4) Tag, add cover art, play, enjoy!

I guess my point is why isn't it as easy as importing a cd.
