Way OT - I made a logon screen!
« on: February 22, 2005, 10:51:36 pm »

Yup, I did it, I actually made a logon screen.  It isn't super duper, and I made it from a great wallpaper I found while checking out skins at DeviantArt.  I used a program called Logon Studio, so it's sort of like cheating 'cause I didn't have to fuss with all the coding, but it gives me a greater appreciation for all those people who actually do this sort of stuff from scratch - people like Dragon who listens to all our requests for skins, skins and more skins.  This was my first week at using Photshop, and all those little buttons nearly had me going mad! Nearly gave up on trying to get my Tiff files into a Bitmap that didn't lose pixels - still working on that, but have the jpegs down.
Media Center started a customization obscession - now I look for  skins, logon's icons and cursors instead of shoes!!!   Hubby is pleased.

Thanks marko! Photoshop is challenging to say the least, but I am plugging along.  Even made a couple of bootscreens.  They aren't quite what I wanted, as I haven't got this 16color image thing right yet.  But they worked...and not a single crash. ;D  I will be getting some tutorial assistance on Friday, however, as my daughter the photo and image manipulation wizard, is bringing the wee babe over for the day.
