Non-English langage character displays
« on: April 21, 2005, 03:17:53 am »

On April 12th, I posted a message on this board mentionning that MC11 would not display special [i.e. non English] characters on my PC, but would instead substitute these characters with a square.

I was given the advise to change the font, but that did not work.

As I was ripping more music last night, I identified that the issue for me stems from the "Clean File Properties" function.

MC11 does display the characters correctly, but when I run the "Clean File Properties" (specifically with all the boxes ticked except "Move articles to end"), I end up with those nasty squares where I used to have special characters.

Has anyone else noticed this before? What am I doing wrong?

You'll see a box when there's a character that the current font doesn't know how to draw.

I couldn't reproduce "Clean file properties" causing a problem on some Chinese files I have.

Feel free to send a library backup to matt @ jriver.com and we'll try to reproduce the problem using the same data.

Thanks.
