You can edit the display name in your profile, but if you want a new user name, you'll need to register again.  There is forum help above.

Yeah, the "Name" field, the field which has under it, "This is the displayed name that people will see," cannot be edited.

Jim, is it possible for Bob to make this configurable?  I'd like to change my name, too.  8)

Hey, it's configurable now!  Coolness.  8)  (I've always hated the alias Omni.  The only reason I chose it at the time was because I needed to come up with something quick, couldn't, looked around my desk, spotted "OmniCube" printed boldly on my KVM switch, and then I was born. :))

Thanks!

I guess the only problem is that someone could act like a total goof, and change his/her name and nowone would be the wiser.

Wow.  I kind of miss Omni.  It's weird how that happens, and you build associations and assumptions (even, or especially, wrong ones) about a person's "name".  For example, if Mastiff was suddenly not Mastiff anymore, but was Aardvark (and told us he used to have a dog but wasn't so into them nowadays).

It's like you're not even the same person anymore!   ;D
