MC11 problem with Windows XP MCE Remote Control
« on: May 20, 2005, 04:38:18 am »

Hello all....long time MC fan, first time poster....

This problem does not exist in the MC10 build I have (10.0.173), but does in the MC11 (11.0.263). Using Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition (MCE) 2005, with MC11 loaded, at least 3 of the buttons on my XPMCE remote control do not function. (Skip,Replay, and Stop). I initially blamed the behavior on Promixis' MediaBridge server for NetRemote, but thanks to some troubleshooting help over there, the behavior exists with MC11 loaded, regardless of whether MediaBridge is. Again, this does not occur with MC10, only MC11, and that is without any remote control plugins installed / loaded.

Any ideas?

Update to the latest build. There have been many fixes and changes for remote controls and multi media keyboards in the last few builds. (# 272 today)

No change with MC11.0.274... Since I've never had need to have XPMCE and MC running with  both apps onscreen and visible at the same time, I just noticed that MC is definitely "stealing" the Skip, Repeat, and Stop button command from XPMCE. MC nicely complies with moving the highlighted track forward 1 with the XPMCE remotes' Skip button, and back a track with Repeat.

I uninstalled the IRMAN remote plugin that installed (but was not enabled) by default, no change.

Answers?  Other compelling questions?
