Nomad Jukebox problem with MC11
« on: May 18, 2005, 09:02:09 pm »

Nomad problem!

When I connect the Jukebox 3, MC hangs, cpu usage goes to 98 or so, and the memory use keeps climbing up to over 350 MB.  The file list displays after 5 minutes or more, and when it does, it displays only the filename in the name field; no artist or album info...

I'm using the latest Nomad plugin, with no creative software.  I have Notmad Explorer installed, but it happens with it disabled...

epf,

Have you recently installed different drivers for Nomad or any other applications that may have installed different drivers? Please try getting the latest drivers for the Nomad and see if things improve. I have seen this behavior before and it was driver related.

Thanks,

Steve

SteveG - no, I haven't done anything with my JB drivers since my last successful connection, which was a good few builds ago...

epf,

Nothing has changed recently to cause this and it appears OK for me in testing here. Have you tried rebooting? If not, please do. If yes, try removing and reinstalling the drivers.

Thanks,

Steve

SteveG - Hi again.  Yes, I've rebooted and un/re-installing the drivers; no joy.  I can access the player through Notmad no problem...  I don't get it, and this used to work just fine.  I'll try completely removing everything to do with the player and then just reinstalling the driver; then I'll get back to you...

EpF,

Hold the phone. I think I see the problem and have fixed it tonight. Please wait until after the build before spinning your wheels further.

Thanks,

Steve

Steve - I just took a look at the new build thread, and there's nothing in it about handhelds; should I download it re. this problem or not?

Hi Steve,

The problem was gone in version 275, but it's back again.  As I described in my first post in, 276 and 277, MC freezes and gobbles up my CPU...

EpF,

I think this is driver related. I cannot reproduce it on a clean PC. I will test some more.
