Tagging Errors
« on: May 31, 2005, 03:56:47 am »

I have made tagging changes to my MP3 files using the last few builds of MC11.  MC can import the files, play them and display cover art without a problem.  However, some of these files do not now work on my iPod.

Is there a way to re-tag?  Is there a way to check for tagging errors?  I guess I need to use the MC database to re-write the tags.  Has anyone else had this problem?

I have the same problem - maybe differently. It turns out MediaJukebox v8 hasn't written the many tags to the source files - I've been changing tags for years in MJ, and it hasn't saved any of them, EVEN THOUGH I have the check-box set for "Update tags when file info changes". My MJ database looks great, but when I now look at the files, I see that it has saved none of the tags - so many are blank. Is there a utility I can get to write-once all the MJ database tags out to the disk files?

Thanks for any help.

You can perform an update of the tags using the library tools.

Select the files -> Library Tools -> Update tags from library

Hope this helps.
