Problems w/Ogg Vorbis Sync
« on: May 07, 2005, 08:59:44 pm »

Hi, I purchased Media Center v. 11 and am enjoying using and learning it... :)

One apparent problem:  I own an iAudio G3 flash player, and when I try to synchronize Ogg Vorbis files to the player, Media Center says "file type not supported".

It does allow me to synchronize MP3 files to my player, however.

The iAudio G3 does support Ogg Vorbis (up to Q8 I belive) and I can easily transfer Ogg files to it using a different utility supplied with the player.

Can this be fixed?  ?  Thanks.

Ding dong, anyone in there?  Was there ever a private reply to that posting?

I have the very same problem.  Until an hour ago I used MediaJukebox but it wouldn't detect the handheld. So I downloaded the trial version of MediaCenter (v11.0).

When I try to upload OGG files to the handheld I get:

-------------
The following 1 file cannot be transfered. Common errors include insufficient rights or unsupported file type. Remove the unsupported files and continue the transfer?
Error: The Venice Dreamer - File not supported
-------------

The handheld I use is the iRiver iFP 799 and it does support Ogg up to a bitrate of 225kbps. The file I'm trying to transfer is

Bitrate: 199kbps
Frequency: 44100 Hz

which is definitely supported by the player.  Actually I can upload the file on the handheld if I use the iRiver utility.

Any tips would be much appreciated. If the answer is "it's not supported" I'd like to know if it will ever be and when I can expect it.

Muchas gracias.
