Import m4a files
« on: November 01, 2005, 11:57:27 am »

I just bought MediaCenter 11 and first thing I started to import all my audio files that are currently in both iTunes and RealPlayer. Most of them are mp3, and a few m4a ripped with RealPlayer. Around 40 of the m4a weren't imported and the log file says:

18.53.19: Import: ImportNewFiles:     Failed to analyze / add

The interesting thing is that in some cases whole albums were rejected, while in other cases some tracks of the album were imported okay and some other didn't.

Any idea of what I could do?

Thanks

Could it be this issue: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=28166.0 ?

Yes, it is, thanks a lot. Does anybody know if this issue will be fixed in the future? I don't like the idea of having to change all my files' names!

As I just did this myself, I will point out that some tag info. for some files was lost along the way:  some genre & date fields.   I don't know why it was lost in some files and not others, and I'm in the process of manually re-typing this information back for hundreds of files.

There are some longstanding reported issues that JRiver never addresses, and I suspect this is one of them.
