"linking" songs together
« on: December 01, 2005, 11:04:04 am »

Been a while since I checked - is there any movement towards being able to link songs together in MC?

I'm interested in this for the Grateful Dead more than anything, but side 2 of Abbey Road is what makes most people understand what I'm talking about. :-)

I believe your question is about CUE file suppport within MC, and that information will have to wait for someone whose answers are a bit more fact-based than mine.

However, I can tell you that side 2 of Abbey Road was the first set of tracks I took into the Media Editor and pasted together.  So I have 2 copies of those tracks now:  individually, and as one long bass-thumping guitar-screaming thing.  I highly recommend this, if you have the drive space.

You need to rip the album as one mp3 and a  cue file. This the recomended way for albums iwth segues, soft fades, or live music.

If you don't have the source then an editor can do the job for you however you will be re-encoding if using lossy encoding.
