Purchase Upgrade as Gift
« on: December 31, 2005, 03:29:57 am »

Hello,

I did a search on 'purchase' and 'gift' and there were no hits in the forum.

I'd like to buy an upgrade from 9.1 to 11.1 for my brother. Is there any way I can buy it for him using my Credit Card so that he receives the license key associated to his email address?

Thanks,

Just do the purchase from his machine, using your CC and his e-mail.

He lives in Canada and I live in France, so it's not that easy for us.

Isn't there any other way that doesn't require my access to his machine?

I'm guessing you'd get quite a few more sales if purchasing as a gift was an option within your licensing system...

Maybe it's a big deal to set up the infrastructure for moving licenses around as gifts - I dunno. But I know I gave GForce as a Xmas gift to two people - instead of MC - because I could print out pretty PDF gift certificates and arrange for them to receive an e-mail after Xmas with their license codes . . .

This topic comes up once a year, over the holidays. We did implement a gift system once, but got very few sales from it. The amount of effort needed to put a gift system in place outweighs the expected sales we'd get from it...
