I am in the process of re-ripping all my CD's in APE format.

Does anyone know any neat tricks to have the song ratings magically move from the mp3 file to the corresponding ape file? The mp3 and ape files are on different drive letters on my system.

Tip 1: Use the forum Search.

Tip 2:

Search for: replace mp3 ape  (for example)
by user: Alex B  (not necessary, but may help if you have noticed that someone has previously written about similar things.)
Message age: between 0 and 1000 days  (= about three years, the default age may not be enough)

You could have searched first and after that posted the possible further questions to one of the previous threads. Since the threads probably contain useful information it is actually a good thing to bump them.

These threads have mostly instructions for completely changing the file format while keeping the library data intact. I think you may need some advice on how to point the library to the new location besides the file format change and on how to keep the both formats available in the same library.

Don't take it too personally. I just wanted to remind the other users too.

It is a bit tiresome to explain complicated things over and over again. I would much rather answer to detailed questions after the principle is familiar. All libraries are different and exact details, like folder naming examples are needed.

I am sure you'll get fine tips from the others too.
So let's stop this OT, please and get back in the business...
