Creation of language files

Quote
11.1.115 (02/07/06)
13. NEW: Added the ability to hot-swap language files to the Tools > Language menu.

I am motivated to carry out a French translation of MC. I took as a starting point the various existing files: German, Spanish and French. (MC v11.1.116)
Although I use same syntax (that indicated in the comments), I do not obtain any translation of MC during the replacement of original Language.exe by mine (in the French folder thus).

The begining of my translation :

Code: [Select]
##################################################################
# Media Center language file (must be saved as Unicode) - French
#
# Enter data entries like the samples below.
# The first line is the English phrase, and the next line is what it will get
# replaced with during translation.
#
# So replace the second line with the appropriate text.  You can add or remove
# phrases.  Just be sure to keep each phrase set as two lines.
#
# You can insert comments by starting lines with a '#'.  Empty lines between
# phrase sets are optional.
#
# Store your customized Language.txt file in [MC]\Data\Languages\[Language Name].
# Media Center will show all directories at this location in the Language menu.
#
# Please submit any language changes or improvements back to JRiver so everyone
# can enjoy them.  Send them to matt @ jriver.com or jimh @ jriver.com
# Thanks for your help!

The file name should be language.txt (you have Language.exe above) and it should be saved here:
C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center 11\Data\Languages\French

Then restart the program and select French from the Tools/Language menu.

You might try starting over with the English file and making just a few changes to test.

Note that the file you save will be over-written on a new install, so save another copy somewhere.

It is exactly what I did... And the interface remains in English.
(I think that the fact that MC are installed on the partition D: do not change anything?!)

Another idea?  :-[

Your file is different from the English file.  It seems to leave out part of the file.

I am sorry.
I understood my error: I am too stupid!! :-\
Although it is very clearly indicated in the comment, I did not pay attention there: the file must be saved have Unicode.
To publish these *.txt, I use Notepad++, by default that encode in ANSI.

Now I have another problem: at the time of the use of the key [Alt  (to navigate in the menus using the keyboard), the English menus appear.

In the same way: how can I define the shortcut keys, for example F for File?

You can't change shortcuts.  I'm not sure about language for the Alt settings.
