Question regaring MP3 Encoder GUI
« on: February 24, 2006, 06:27:06 am »

Hi!

I use new Helix MP3 Encoder with Media Center as it was rated quite good at hydrogenaudio and is much faster than GoGo, even in VBR mode! (gogo is only fast when using CBR)

Actually, I use the custom switches to work with Helix using "-v90 -x2 -u2 -hf2 -sbt450 -tx0"

Since the encoder dialog was upated recently to include Gogo, I wanted to ask it it were possible to include Helix as well?

I would preset all switches besides the "-v" since they were recommended by hydrgenaudio. -v could be made available in a combo-box as quality percentage, ranging from 0 to 150.

I know that this is only a cosmetic improvement and not really necessary since it is possible to use MC with any encoder using the custom switch settings, but at least it would be nice to have all 3 good mp3 encoders supported by MC...

Thanks

P.S. I tried to create my own plugin with the given SDK, but didn't understand it totally. The demo plugin doesn't communicate with a EXE, but does everything by himself, no? So how can I pass the parameters to an external EXE, as it is done by the mp3 encoder plugin?
