Feature request: file deletion
« on: February 23, 2006, 04:01:38 pm »

The "delete" command has a different meaning when you're viewing a playlist (or viewing "playing now") than elsewhere: normally it deletes the file from the Media Library, but when in a playlist or in "playing now", it deletes it from that playlist.  This is sensible, but I have a suggestion.

I suggest that when you're viewing a playlist, the delete command in the right-mouse-button menu should be called "Delete from this playlist", and when viewing playing now, it should be called "Delete from Playing Now", just for clarity.  And there should be another command right beneath it called "Delete from Media Library".  It is quite often that I'm listening to songs in Playing Now for the sake of comparing potential duplicates, and when I've identified a duplicate I want to remove it from the Library.  Right now there's no easy way to do this.  I don't think the behavior of the Delete keyboard shortcut should be changed - that would be disastrous!  But I just want an additional command added to the menu.

Thanks!

Clicking Shift + Delete in a playlist or "playing now" pops up the options to delete from the library.

Hope it helps.

It doesn't really. Much of the time I only use my RF mouse or ATI RW with my TV and no handy keyboard. I completely agree with Solomon here.
