MC  has a useful feature that allows to see the full info of the artist currently playing, provided by Allmusic.com.

Probably every user knows how to do it. Just clicking on the "Artist Info" icon located under the Playing Now branch in the tree (right below "Find CD") will display the page showing the info on that artist.

However, maybe not everybody knows that it is also possible to see the info on any artist of your library without having to actually play a song.

To do that, you just need to customize your toolbar by adding the "Artist Info" button to it. These are the steps to customize your toolbar:

1.- Right click on the bottom toolbar and choose "Customize toolbar"
2.- Select the "top" or "bottom" toolbar where you want to put the new button.
3.- Find the "Artist info" button in the list of available buttons located on the left pane, select it and click on the right arrow to put it on the right pane.
4.- Adjust the desired position of the button by clicking the "move up" or "move down" buttons.

From now on, when you want to see the information of any artist you just have to select the artist in any view, regardless if it's in playing now or not,  and click the new button on your toolbar. A web browser with the AMG information will open and will display the information.

This feature is specially interesting combined with the library browsing system. In any view scheme, just selecting any artist and clicking on the toolbar button will display the info.

I like the Artist Info tool.  Its convenient when you're curious about an Artist, checking out something new you like, or want to anser some random trivia question from your wife!  Probably wouldn't have stuck with MC without it.

Two little things I'd really like to see added to the "Artist Info" tool in the future are:

(1) Gimme a Keyboard Shortcut (actually, why don't you just let me customize my keyboard shortcuts ala-Photoshop).

(2) Instead of Artist Info, it'd be nice if it were a "Media Info" button that sent Music to AMG, Video to IMDB, and Pictures to Google Images (or something similar).  Even better would be if you could user-designate where you want the lookup to go and what fields get sent to the remote site.
