You have to use the WinAmp plugin

But let me tell you i am really surprise you keep your music on shn format .SHN is very very far to sound that good

Let say it is a kind of zip for WAV,like it it is smaller to download. But i can tell you that it is very very very slooow to download. It is faster to trade WAV and APE.

Anyway, the best thing to do is to 'unzip' SHN  to WAV.It is really fast .From here ,you can convert to APE and put it on cd.You will get a good sound, like an original cd.And APE are also around 50% smaller than WAV

Let me know if you want to try it,i will give you links to softwares converting  SHN free-fast-easy to use]

I SPEAK ABOUT LEGAL TRADING OF CONCERTS FROM BANDS WHO ARE OK WITH IT.Most of them put they concerts on they site.

So no raison to use scissors on this post.........

are you talking about etree.org?  that is where i got most of my shns from.  shn is lossless just like ape, although the compression may not be quite as good.  i have been using shn instead of ape, because it is cross-platform and non-proprietary.  ape seems to be improving on this front so maybe i will switch over, but it would take a long time to convert all my cds.  i am also considering flac.  what would you suggest?

Yes  etree.org-furthrnet.com also.
And some sites from bands.
Search for Blueground Undergrass a super jam band. They give a lot of they concerts to download from they sites.

In fact i never understood SHN as a format to play.More as i said kind of 'zip'
I feel that SHN does not sound great. But can be my impression, nothing more.

If you have a lot of cds on SHN,yes it can be some work...Copy cd to hard drive, convert SHN to WAv[this is very fast],convert WAV to APE[also very fast].

I do not really know flac. But i know the project is close. There not anymore update and support.

There is one thing i know for sure: if you are happy with the SHN,stay with it.Just don't care about what others[include myself] can say.
Maximun you can try  to 'convet' a cd to APE and see if you find a big difference.

I do not use APE for all SHn,sometimes i convert it to  MPEG+.Not a loossless format, but like it i can have a full concert on one cd

To play SHN with media player, you need to use the WinAmp pluging.

Search this forum, was few months ago a topic concerning SHN and the pugin.

Have a good jam!
