What is the hard drive?  USB?  Network drive?

Set the file associations for import to jpg only.  Does that work?

Check the directories you're importing from.  Do they exist?

I tried your sugestions and it still dies?
I have tried importing off my USB drive as ell as my C drive

I am not quite sure what you mean by "set the file associations for import"
Tools/Options/File Associations? It says "Set the associations you want to play?
Is this what you are refering to?

Anyway I appreciate your help

Please install the latest MC 11.1 from the top of this board.

There was an issue with files with invalid file times in MC 11.0.

I have one "My Pictures" folder and when I try to import, the program instantly shuts down. (even after the new install). There must be something wrong with the pictures I'm importing?

very weird.

Is that folder on the USB drive?

Check this thread on a similar problem that was solved by updating a hardware driver.

I sent 4 jpg files to my brother to import into his MC and it crashed the same way.
Could I send you a jpg to test? I seem to have this problem wit a lot of my newer jpg files and I need to know why they won't import?

Send one to jimh at jriver.com.  Where did the files come from?  Camera?  Brand?

Thanks for the file.  We think it has a bad EXIF tag in the header.  Where did you get the file, please?

Sorry.  It was EXIF header (in the JPG file).  Did you edit the file or change it with any other software?

MC will handle these files properly next build.

The EXIF tag loops back on itself.  We'd never seen that before.  (it almost seems like a bug in the EXIF tag to me)

Thanks for the help.
