Customize Current View bug
« on: March 04, 2006, 06:21:05 pm »

Last time I brought this up, it was made clear that the Panes customize current view is different than the Artists/Genres/Albums view. I just downloaded 139 and tried to customizing some current views. I clicked on the Audio link and went to Panes. I customized the current view and then said to apply to the children. I checked some children and for the Pane views it was fine. I then went back to the Audio link and changed to Artists. I customized that current view and saved to the children. I went to some children and suddenly the panes view was back to a default instead of what I had previously saved it to. Changing the Panes view again loses the Artists view.

Somehow it's not remembering the different views.

Never got a reply and it's doing the same thing in 140 so I am now declaring this as a bug.

Click on Audio and customize the Panes current view. Save the view to the children and click OK. Check the Panes views underneath Audio and it works fine.

Now go back and click on Audio, verify the Panes view is what you had set. Now switch to the Artists view. Note that the view is not like Panes which is what is expected. Customize that view and save the view to the children and click OK.

Switch back to Panes view and the view that was saved there is now changed to perhaps a default view?

If you change the Panes view at that point in doing the same steps and then switch back to Artists, that view has now been changed.

This is a big problem because I have a view that I want to use for the file details no matter whether it's in Panes, Genres, Artists, or Albums view and with this bug I cannot do it unless I go to every child view and manually do it.

I'm not sure if this is what your describing, but when I set my Panes view for Album Thumbnails and Tiles on Large->when I explore some tiles and want to switch to Panes mode for just those files or albums, MC defualts the Pan mode back to the parent view scheme. When did this change? It's a real pain because the user cannot toggle between Tiles and a Details/Thumnbails view.

Does seem like a bug to me.

dcwebman,

This is fixed in build 141.

For the context of this functionality 'similar location' refers to the top file list or the bottom file list. You can't transfer the top file list configuration to the bottom file list (or, vice versa).

'Under This Scheme' - will copy the configuration to similar views in the active scheme and any schemes listing in the tree under that scheme.

'All Locations' - means it will propagate up the tree as well as down but only for 'similar locations'.
