Feature Request: Synching m3u's to arbitrary devices
« on: March 15, 2006, 10:45:49 pm »

I store my mp3 files on a server, which runs a UPNP server.  I would like to be able to automatically export my playlists to a folder on that server, so the UPNP server picks them up. (It's smart enough to modify the folder paths.)

Exporting them one by one is a pain, and the "Export All..." doesn't let you pick a destination directory.

I've tried setting up an arbitrary device for synchronization, and telling it that mp3's were not valid file types so it wouldn't try to make copies in the folder.  But, then MC exports nothing at all, producing an error.

It would be nice if, in the "supported file types" device setting, if the only entry was "m3u," for MC to export the appropriate playlists and not produce an error.

A "device" needs to support files and playlists.  That's not what you're doing.

Export All and a batch file to copy the files may be your best bet.
