I have files encoded in MP3 and M4a format in MediaCenter. I would like to reimport them using a lossless codec. If I do, will I maintain the metadata (ratings, genre, etc)?

If you re rip them, then remove them from the Library (The lossless ones)

Goto your mp3, and do a Find and replace for Filename.

If you are ripping them in the exact same folder structure, you will only need to find mp3 and replace with ape.

Try one or 2 first!!!!
