Gone in 11.1xx. It seems J River did some streamlining in this version. There are other things gone or restructured that I miss too.

I have asked for this back a few times... This makes absolutely no sence why they removed it.

If I want to change something, I have to change it manually for all locations... Seems like a step back.

I agree. And not even any workarounds to somehow get that functionality back and never a real reason why it was removed.

not to mention everytime i close media center or power down laptop once i reconnect to server, you have to go back to customize and choose thumbnails again. Terrible idea JRiver, especially for those of us that have 20 or 30 some playlists, lots of views to change! is there someone @ j river we can talk to about this or a  way i can get the old version back and just NEVER update, i've noticed in version 11 they have been taking alot of stuff away, and adding things i have no use for!

Guys, check out the functionality in Customize current view/ "Columns to show" and "Sorting" /Preset. . .
There is a lot more you can do with this now.  I lost all the views and screamed my lungs out when I discovered they'd changed this.  only when I tried setting up a view, saving it, and then loading it into related views, I decided this method was MUCH better.

j green are you telling me there is a  work around to save all these views as thumbnails? if so please guide me in how to do this. i just checked my server and because i updated my server as well. all my thumbnails are gone and it's back to automatic\ ALL TEXT!!! This will not FLY, my kids use media center and honestly alot easier to scream through my playlist by looking at pictures\thumbnails rather then reading them all not to mention asthetic wise..LOOKS much better!!!! also when going from playlist to playlist the time it takes to goto customize current view and change them all to thumbnails again. I thought media center Since i been w\  media center is for ease of use, functionality, why take away a good thing??

If there is no way to get this back to the way it was 2 or 3 versions ago, could you guide me to where old version of media center is. or how to get media center 10 back. I'd rather have version 10 and take a kick in butt from my upgrade to 11, for a working version rather then this one! that way i can see my thumbs\save them in all views  not to mention when i have people over and were in the party room and strangers of media center are trying to find a song \album.. then deal w\ this messy looking media center now.

thank You

Come to think of it, save for all locations is something i have never ever used cos well each view is different and has its own arrangement to be relevant.

So i have typically selected what columns i want to show and customised sorting for each view.

Now the hard part is when you upgrade to a new version, you lose all that work.

Enter saving of presets/columns etc. for each viewscheme.

Have you found that you were able to restore these saves across versions of MC ?

If so i need to come up with a naming convention so i can actually find the pre-saved info and apply it again.

How i wish MC remembered it all with a mere library backup.

That is the only "easy" way to do it, even though you can't do thumbnails with it. However, as I mentioned in a previous post that was ignored, there are problems when you have saved a preset and then want to modify it. Say you named your preset "My View", make some changes, and then save it again but then mistakenly save it as "my view". Oops, case sensitive, so now there are two presets. Now which one did I type last?

I always have to look at the exact wording and case I used in Load in order to do a Save again. I suggested that the Save box be one of those drop down boxes that had the existing presets where you could select an existing one or type the name of a new one. That would simply solve the problem but I guess it went to deaf ears.
