Managing and merging music directories
« on: September 17, 2002, 01:03:48 pm »

Hi,
I was wondering how I might be able to merge two directories of music together and not over-write a higher bit encoded mp3 with a lower level. Here is the situation.. I have one drive of MP3's that I created with various encoding rates (about 15 gig) I took a break from ripping my mp3's then I came back to it but this time with a better encoder. Now some of these were from vynal and cd etc.. Some of hte vynal I now have the cd and turned them into 128.. I would like to merge the two sets of music to free up some space but I do not want the 128 bit stuff over written with something of less quality.. Any ideas?

Import them all into a single MJ library.  Sort them by bitrate or any other way you want by clicking on the field name at the top of the content window.

Delete the ones you don't want from the library.  Use MJ tools/copy or move to put them where you want them.
