When adding new audio to my library I give it a quick listen to ensure the rip quality is ok.

I have found that rip errors are most easily detected, and most frequently occur, at the beginning and end of the file.  So after listening to a few seconds of the file I scroll to the end and listen to the last few seconds. This is a time consuming manual process.

How about a "verify media" playback option that plays the first x seconds and the last y seconds of the file?

This option might also be useful for video.
