Folder.jpg
« on: November 13, 2006, 12:19:23 am »

Hi there

Can someone please explain how this works.  I have one cover art file that is used whenever cover art can't be found for a song.  It is driving me crazy, how can I remove this.  There are 100's of files with this cover art, the image is called folder.jpg, I can't seem to find where it is stored?

Many thanks

Dave

Folder.jpg Should Be Stored In The Folder Where The Media File Resides, Thus The Name "Folder.Jpg"

Sample:

C:\My Music\B\Beatles\Folder.Jpg

Ok KingSparta

Maybe this might help.  When I go to the location it takes me to the route of my Music folder as in C:\Music

Any mp3's in the route and not in their own directory display this image.  There is no Folder.jpg in this directory either?  I have also searched for this file without luck.

Thanks for your help

Did You Look In The Field "Image File" and see what the path was to the file

It should give you a path Or Say "Inside File"

Also Look Under Tools > Options > File Locations

Look At Track Image Location Settings.

Ok

Under the Tag settings the Image File is listed as being Folder.jpg (no directory listed)

Under File location the location rule is Īn Specific folder.

I am using the latest beta release of 12

That Could Be It Too, Never Thought Of That One.

besides If There Is A File In The "Īn Specific folder" it should not be, and that may be why your seeing many files with the same art

There are no hidden files in my Music directory.  There are 3882 files in C:\Music and all show this one cover art image.  You can see why it is anoying.

I have searched for the file folder.jpg  without luck.  In the Tag section the file folder.jpg does not display any directory structure?  It is just displayed as Folder.jpg.

If I remove cover art, it just removes the image from the one file.

you never said if you looked in the folder:

Code: [Select]
Under File location the location rule is Īn Specific folder.
Under That Should Be A Folder.

------------------------------------------------------------

Also You Can Search On Your Drives In Windows Explorer For "Folder.jpg"

it should search all the hard drives and sub folders for that file.

I just tried this

Select the Media File, Right Click > Locate > On Disk External

It found the media File, And The Folder.Jpg was inside the Folder.

Then I Deleted The Folder.Jpg Using Directory Opus 8

Did A Auto Import

MC12 Did Not Clean Up The Missing Art

So Folder.Jpg Is Still Showing In The File Listing "Image File" Field

So It Is Possible The Folder.Jpg Is Already Deleted, And This Should Be Considered A Bug In MC For Not Cleaning Up.

If Viewing In ThumbNail Mode The Image Is Still There, Maybe You Would Need To Rebuild The ThumbNails I Think There Was An Option For That, Not Sure.

If You Put MC In Thumnail Mode, Click On Tag, A Window In The Action Box Will Pop Up.

If You Click On Where The Image Should Be (In Mine Since I Deleted The File)

I Could See A Path To Where The Image Was that Has Not Been Fixed by Auto Import.

So The "Fix Broken Links Only Works On The Media File" And Does Nothing For The Linked Images To That File.

dazzle, I've just checked this, and when windows media player creates folder.jpg, it makes them hidden, system files.

Go into your control panel and open Folder Options.
Click on the view tab
Scroll down the list of tickbox options you see there.
Select "Show hidden files and folders"
Untick "Hide protected operating system files", answer "Yes" to the warning dialogue that follows.
OK your way back to the desktop.

Now, go check again for your folder.jpg file, let us know if you find it.

Hi Marko

I had already checked that.  I have found a solution, I have moved all my odd files into a new sub directory of my main music folder and that solved the problem.
