Autoimport/ImportFromShell and "match external changes"
« on: March 08, 2007, 05:26:55 pm »

o set up AutoImport for several folders.
o Import one of these folders from the shell (select the folde in explorer, rightclick->mediacenter->import)
o mediacenter now thinks that the shell imported files have had external changes and the import takes a lot more time than should be neccessary.

From the import log (in the below example, the file is imported this way every time):
-------------------
Library now has 61342 files. Search and update took 0:37.

Imported 0 new files.
Updated 88 files that had external changes.

By design, a manual (explicit) import will force an update from file tags.

If you have auto-import configured, MC should automatically stay synchronized with any new media, so the manual step should be unnecessary.
