[SOLVED] Saving tag changes not working - config problem?
« on: March 17, 2007, 08:05:30 am »

Hello all,

I just installed MC 12.0.189 on my new Vista box. I am using a couple of external 320 GB drives for my music and image files. I've imported my library backup from my old XP box. Everything seems to be working as before except that as MC is playing tunes, it does not seem to want to update the tags in the files (I've got MC to save all tags in the files, including the play count tag).

I've got "Update tags when file info chages" ticked in the Options-General.

I've verified that my music/image files are not read-only.

I know that Vista's NTFS is a little different than XP's, but the external drive was formatted on the XP box, so I don't think it's that...

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Michel.

I just found the solution:

Vista seems to do things a little differently.... Even though my user account has administrator's rights, I had to use Explorer, navigate to the MC folder in Program Files, select Media Center 12.exe, right click on it and set it to run as an Administrator.

Worked. Now MC saves the tags changes to the files.
