Hi, I am finding that I am getting intereference when i play music on media centre 12. It is when the disk is writing other things. I don't think it is just a n MC12 problem because windows media player is the same which suggest a hardware issue or settings. So I am wondering what is the best setup as regards playing music e.g. Disk cache settings

you should tell what system you use. but if it is XP than this is a site with some tips to tune your system specialy for music.

You should not need to tune anything.  Music should be a very small load on most PC's.  Something else is wrong.

i agree about music, in normal use. but mr spons says the problem occurs when the computer is doing other things also. and tuning your pc can help a lot then.

I had a similar problem which was caused by faulty IDE cable.  The cable was pretty beat up and crinkly.  Once I replaced this it went away.  Could it be something like this?

Maybe outdated but some used to recommend switching Processor Scheduling to Background Services & also Memory Usage to system cache in Advanced Settings of Windows. 

I find that if me EMU ASIO latency is super low I can cause some pops & clicks when moving a huge Playing Now screesaver around.

What OS? Paging file(s) on two drives?
