I have MC set up to sync a set of playlists to my Windows mobile 5 device.  Occasionally, though, media center will lose track of which songs are on the device and instead try to delete everything and re-sync everything when I connect the device.  (The delete non-included files option is enabled.)  When this occurs, the songs simply show up as the filenames themselves in the device contents, rather than parsed tags.

I still have this same problem of MC12 forgetting what songs are on the player.  This especially happens when I am transferring a large amount of files and MC12 locks up.  After I load up MC12 again, I have to resync all the files again.  MC12 has forgotten what songs are on my WM5 device again, but this time MC12 didn't even crash!

Any other software changing the files on the device?

Nothing else is touching the media files on my WM5 device.  Media Center just seems to forgot that the files are there and I have to go through the sync process all over again.  How does JRiver check if the file is there or not?  Is it done through the database or does it physically check for the file?

MC is also the only program accessing the files on my device.

MC first tries to establish if the database written to the device is valid and, if so, reads the files from the database. If not, it reads the files from the device. Once it has the list of files it matches them with files in the MC database and determines if they have changed since they were sync'd. If the process crashes for some reason the database written to the device will most likely be invalid.

Can you turn on logging to a file for 'handheld' events only and capture either the file recognition or the synchronization process failing with as small a sync as possible? Send the logs to rick @ jriver.com

It happened again.  I deleted some items from one of my playlists and I told my it to update my Motorola Q.  Media Center locked up and when I reloaded it, I have to sync every single music file again.  I sent the log files to (Rick at jriver.com).

The program locked again when I was syncing a playlist.  It stalled at 96%.  I emailed the logs to Rick last week and I have not received a response...  Here is the current log:

Can you try changing your Database Path to "Music\" and let us know if this has any effect?
