Replay Gain
« on: July 28, 2007, 09:44:10 pm »

I'm new to MC and to ripping/burning in general and  so far I love what I see.  I've got about 300 cd's that I want to rip to FLAC and then convert the FLAC to MP3 for my players.

How does MC deal with replay gain?  Is it an automatic that's done when ripping to FLAC?  Will it carry over to when I convert to MP3?  I'm very unfamiliar with the process but I definitely want to use replay gain.

Thanks!

MC can automatically analyze the ripped files for replay gain. The option is here:
Options > CD & DVD > CD Ripping > Analyze audio during ripping

The file converter copies the replay gain values to the converted files automatically.

If you have unanalyzed files you can analyze them manually with a separate tool:
Select the files > Right-click > Library Tools > Analyze Audio...

The playback replay gain options are in DSP studio > Volume Leveling (check the program help for more info).

Also, MC can automatically write the iPod soundcheck value when it transfers files to iPods if the files are analyzed with MC.
