crashes during playback
« on: August 19, 2002, 04:37:55 pm »

I have had this problem several times....After playback for about an hour or so, the program crashes, causing a "popping" and "scratching" sound to come through the speakers. I then have to turn off the computer. Upon restart, it will play fine for a little while and then do it again. I have absolutely no idea what is causing this, but it used to do it on another computer with WIN 98 installed. This machine is XP and has a different sound card (Soundblaster Live). Can you help?

Things to try:

- Disable MEGA-ME skinning
- Update video and sound drivers
- Switch to "Direct Sound" playback (Options -> Playback)

Let us know.

I did all of those things, but it still happens.

Could it have a problem with AIM? I also have been running that.
