Library Server Cache?
« on: August 23, 2007, 02:16:40 pm »

I'm streaming my music over the internet from my server and would like to know if there are is a way to adjust the cache used for the songs?  I know when it stutters, it pauses for ~10+ seconds to buffer but are there any configuration settings for this?  It would be nice if the next song could start being buffered if the current song is completely buffered, even if paused.

I have a 1Mb upload speed at home and get around 850 Kbps, which is very close to what FLAC requires.  It almost plays flawlessly.  Some songs have a much higher average bit rate and don't play smoothly but if it buffered more it would be better.  I usually pause track 1 and let it buffer but as soon as track 2 comes, it's stuttering again.  If it could buffer track 2 when 1 is finished downloading, that would be useful.
