moving the shuffle and DSP icons?
« on: October 11, 2007, 04:29:14 am »

it has been discussed before. just thought ill make a mockup.
since there is a lot you can change in the skin and there are some new skins seeing the daylight, there is a small thing that i always miss in the layouts. and that is the fact that it is not possible to move the shuffle and dsp icons underneath the search. before, this place was used for the audio, image and video icon, but since they are in the tree nowadays, it would be nice if this place could be filled with the other icons, allowing the playing now bar to fill till the end of the track display, just as it does when you take the dsp cs. away.

it would look nicer and more balanced.
i made a mockup of the standard noire skin
the original

would be nicer:

thanks :)

Interesting idea, and it does look quite clean. What happens though when you switch to Mini View and the Search box disappears? This view would then have to be rather wide to accommodate a decent sized track display and the extra room need for DSP etc.

im not sure. cant test what would happen. but as it is now, the playerbar 'adapts' itself to the position of the dsp cs. (you see when you take them from the skin). maybe the track display does the same, what in the end will give the same mini skin as now.
