I've noticed that on occasion a track will be missing from an album.

The physical file still exists, it just isn't displayed with the album and in fact it doesn't appear to be anywhere within the library as even a "~d=a " search for that track comes up empty.  Also, doing a "filename=" search for the file comes up empty.

When I try to import the track, nothing happens.

When I change the filename of the track, and then try to import, the track imports without a problem with all of the tag information.

I've had this happen a few times.

Any ideas?

maybe the file was deleted from the library in the past. and when using import, 'ignore files previously removed from library' was on?

Thanks for the reply.  I thought about that, but wouldn't the file still be present within a ~d=a search of the entire database?  Anyway, I unclicked "ignore files previously removed from the library" and the problem persisted.

that file could be corrupt. Have you tried playing it to see if it is ok?

check the filename for illegal characters or illegal file name length, this has caused me issues in the past (classical music especially, when named from tags, can become too long for Windows and shows as corrupt or missing)

Yep.  After I rename the file, it imports without a problem and plays fine.
