This never happened to me until I updated to version 8.0.348 this morning.

MediaJukebox hangs when accessing CDDB upon inserting a new cd.

I'm running XP, Athlon T-Bird 1Ghz, Game Theatre XP sound.

Wonder if anyone else has found this to be a problem.

Yep, locks up if MJ is running when I insert a CD it hasn't seen before, or if cd-auto-play is set to run MJ with a CD it hasn't seen before. I thought it might be the CDDB lookup causing problems, but I turned that off and it still locked up. Unfortunately, this is a pain to nail exactly when the lock ups occur and when they don't, as about every few lock ups the CD driver is put into a complete funk and I have to reboot to use the CD again. Quite annoying, but it happened with the currently downloadable version as well as the updated just today version.

It does seem that if you set some other program to the cd-auto-play (or just disable it completely), that things are okay.

I had this problem a few weeks ago.  Turn off Auto Insert for Music files.  That will fix it.  To do this, go to My Computer and right-click on the CD drive(s.  Select Properties then AutoPlay.  Pick the type of files then select Take No Action.  Hope that this helps.
