Fix Sorting View
« on: November 03, 2007, 01:32:49 pm »

Sometimes I need to find a song, so when I click on names it sorts it so I can
find what I want but the problem is that it doesn't go back as I would normally have it, so I have to go back to View/View Settings/Customize Current View
and change my sorting order all over again.

There should be an undo in File or something to click on to easier reset the
order as it was originally.

Try clearing Options\Tree & View\Sorting\Save changes on list header clicks.

That setting works for me... Hmmm.  Is the option maybe not properly setting the registry key?  Does the checkbox "re-check itself" if you uncheck it, close and re-open MC?

Try hitting the refresh button to return to the views saved sorting presets.

Found one area above Genre but nothing happened.

Try it yourself.  Click on say the name column to sort by song names
then try and get back to the original order you've specified in your
sorting screen.

Thanks,

I do it all the time (about every day) and it works perfectly.  Something is wrong with your install OR you have that option set incorrectly.  Just to be clear.  That option should be UNCHECKED, which is NOT the default.  Is it checked or unchecked?

Try clearing Options\Tree & View\Sorting\Save changes on list header clicks.

There.

You DON'T want it to "save changes" so you should uncheck the option.  I just want to be clear on that before we try to figure out what is wrong with your install or your library.
