Zone Output Problem
« on: January 02, 2008, 11:15:45 am »

I actually use the 6 speaker output channels of my sound card (with the KX driver) as 3 pairs of stereo channels for feeding 3 zones with individual music per zone.

An annoying factor is: when I switch one zone to another music track with smooth transition it makes the transition in all 3 zones, not just in the zone I'm working in. Sounds pretty funny if the music is fading away in all zones and suddenly comes back in the 2 zones I didn't want that transition...

Would it be possible to restrict the transitions to the channels I actually use in this zone?

I assume that is just something no one has thought of...

Correct?

I can confirm this. It only appears here if I use the same soundcard for more than one playing zone. If I use different soundcards one zone doesn't effect the other (tested on vista and xp). It only appears with fade on stop for me, not with crossfade between songs.

Fade on stop runs the volume instead of down-mixing the audio.

This is because stop needs to be fast, and can't wait for the user adjustable playback buffer latency.
