Striped Video playback
«

With some .avi files that I download, if I enable the 'Use Windows Media Player engine for video playback when possible' in the Video Playback Setting, the screen is all stripey like this.
If I unselect it the film doesn't play, I just get stills. It has always happened but it's started to happen a lot lately. I had the Divx and Xvid codecs installed but I deleted them and installed the CCCp pack, but still doing it. Any ideas? ?

When you say "deleted them", I assume you mean that you uninstalled them.
Try the options for Video Renderer in the DirectShow settings area. VMR9, Legacy, etc.
It may be a video card driver issue. You could try updating.
